The city of Istanbul continues to grapple with persistent heavy snowfall. While the urban center is seeing snow depths between 8 and 15 cm, the rural areas have experienced up to 25 cm of snow. In response, a diverse team of 26 IMM units, including ISFALT, is relentlessly monitoring the situation round-the-clock from AKOM. To date, the IMM teams implementing the Winter Crisis Response Operations with 7,421 personnel and 1,582 vehicles have dispensed over 35,000 tons of salt across Istanbul.
IMM and its subsidiaries are working assiduously to shield the sixteen million residents of Istanbul from the impacts of the heavy snowfall. IMM-affiliated teams are working tirelessly, 24/7, to keep the city's roads navigable under the aegis of AKOM's coordination.
As per the data collated at AKOM, strategic interventions are being executed within the city to maintain fluid traffic. IMM's Winter Crisis Response Operations are facilitated by 7,421 personnel and 1,582 vehicles to ensure the citizens' daily life proceeds unimpeded, utilizing more than 35,000 tons of salt in Istanbul so far.
As Istanbul experiences heavy snowfall, an incessant drive is underway to ensure the wellbeing of our citizens is not adversely impacted. İSFALT, our organization, contributes significantly to the Winter Crisis Response Operations led by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and coordinated by AKOM. Our 898 dedicated personnel and 462 vehicles are continually active on a working route spanning approximately 2,000 km. İSFALT also collaborates closely with the IMM Road Maintenance units, actively participating in joint operations.

İSFALT has become an integral part of the operations coordinated by AKOM. Our managers, operating from AKOM, supervise field operations and direct our dedicated vehicles traversing the lengthy 2,000 km route. Additionally, İSFALT's engineers and technicians offer round-the-clock support at AKOM.
Immediate 24/7 Response to Vehicle Breakdowns
Our vehicles can occasionally experience malfunctions during operations. To handle these issues, we have a roaming maintenance service in place. This team operates 24/7, swiftly addressing and rectifying any vehicle faults. In the event of snowfall, our repair teams are on standby 24 hours a day to quickly respond to any issues that arise.
A Round-the-Clock Action Plan
To ensure uninterrupted operations despite heavy snowfall, İSFALT develops a multitude of solutions. Our snow plowing vehicles are provisioned to refuel without diverging from their assigned route. Simultaneously, our dedicated team of drivers and operators are on a 24-hour rotation during Winter Crisis Response Operations, ensuring continuous coverage. Our entire fleet of vehicles is always ready for deployment, irrespective of the weather conditions.
